Strandsjø Kursgård og Potetkafé

Strandsjø, NO-2266 Arneberg, Hedmark, Norway show on map

Strandsjø is beautifully situated near a little lake. People have been living in this area since the viking age. The surroundings are suitable for cycling and walking. In a radius of 50 kms are situated the towns Elverum and Kongsvinger and the Finn Forest, which has a unique history. Your hosts Åse Lund Støen and Ole Egil Støen represent the 6th generation on the farm. The name Støen comes from "båtstø", which means landingplace for boats. From here people used to cross Strandsjø, a lake formed when the river Glomma found a new course hundreds of years ago. Our philosophy is built upon simple country-life spirit; taking care of and making a living out of the earth, the waters and the forests. We hope this concept will give our guests peace, spending time together in contact with a beautiful nature. Few guests at a time in log and straw cabins represents a contribute to this.
